Turn your Video Book or HTML animation into an MP4 video, right on your Windows PC.

Your Video Book looks great in a web browser, but YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and most shops want a video file. HTML to MP4 Maker does that conversion on your own computer. No code, no command line and no uploads.

How it works

1. Open the app and drag your .html file onto the big box (or click Choose File).
2. Pick a size: Widescreen 1920 × 1080, TikTok / Reels 1080 × 1920, or Square 1080 × 1080.
3. Leave Length on Automatic, or type the number of seconds you want.
4. Choose 30 fps (standard) or 60 fps (extra smooth).
5. Keep the page's sound, add your own music file, or both.
6. Click "Make my MP4". When it's done, click Open folder or Play video.

Made for Video Book Studio files

• Detects Video Book builder files, presses Storytime for you, and stops after the last page has had its time on screen.
• Hides the reader's buttons and hints, so the video shows just your book (you can turn this off under More options).
• Keeps the book's music and the sound of its video pages, in time with the pages.
• Handles big single-file books with photos, music and video built in. We tested it with a 48 MB book (15 pictures, 3 videos and a music track).

Works with other HTML animations too

• CSS animations and transitions, JavaScript animations, WebGL, and embedded video and audio.
• Automatic length stops about 1 second after the animation finishes. If a page animates without end, the app makes a 10-second video and tells you; type a length to change it.

Why frame by frame

Screen recording can drop frames when a computer is busy. HTML to MP4 Maker controls the page's clock and draws each frame one at a time, then saves a standard H.264 MP4 with AAC sound. A slower PC takes longer to finish, but the finished video is not choppier.

Private and offline

Everything happens on your computer. No account and no internet connection needed, and your files are not uploaded anywhere.

Requirements

• Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit. It does not run on Mac, Chromebook, iPhone or Android.
• About 500 MB of free disk space for the app, plus room for your videos.

Good to know

• The app is not code-signed yet, so the first time you run the installer Windows SmartScreen may show "Windows protected your PC". Click "More info", then "Run anyway". Some antivirus programs may also ask before letting a new app run.
• Making a video takes time: the app draws every frame, so expect several minutes for each minute of video. It's slower with video pages, 60 fps and big sizes, and quicker on faster PCs.
• The app records what the HTML page shows. Pages that wait for clicks or typing (other than a Play / Storytime button) may not record the way you expect.
• Sounds a page makes with code (synthesizer tones) aren't included. Regular music and video sound are.
• Make sure you have the rights to the pictures, videos and music in your file.
